Story Behind The Story: Cameo Appearance I always had this dream to live in Cinderella's castle in DisneyWorld. No kidding. If you've ever been to the dining room and dined with the prince and princess, you can imagine what it would be like to be treated like a princess. In my story, Cameo Appearance, I gave Cameo Dreyden that opportunity, to become a princess for a true-to-life Prince Charming. No, his name's not Charming, but Prince Reginald does live in the (imaginary) far-away island country of Charmania. He's a wonderful man, however, his island has some really odd rules, thanks to his overbearing and crazy mother, Queen Tawny. Reggie has this dream to marry Cameo and move to the island, to form a stable monarchy. Most women would at least entertain the thought, but not Cameo. She has a few problems back home that could follow her and threaten the people of Charmania. So she's not jumping at the chance, almost annoyed at Reggie's offer of marriage. This story was fun to write, because I had the opportunity to dream the fairy tale dream, to consider an idyllic life on a beautiful island where the dolphins frolicked in the sea and the food was outstanding.
